Ventuz4.03 Statistics

Post by Drac Zhang » 17 Feb 2014, 08:14

Hi,

I met a strange problem when I update ventuz from Ventuz4.02 to Ventuz4.03. When I open the statistics in Ventuz4.03, the screen become so strange, I upload the screenShot. So do I need to change some config?

BTW, I have a video about 610MB(6minutes), after I selected buffer all, it will use about 20GB memory. I want to know why it uses so much memory?

Best Regard
Drac

'Buffer all" decodes your entire video and loads it into memory. That allows you to scrub through the video back and forth smoothly and fast. Scrubbing, etc is all smooth - even with Codecs that wouldn't normally support that. But it has a price. It takes up a lot of memory.

Thank you. So it likes the movie sequence in Ventuz3?

No it is much better than that. The Movie sequence in V3 was still restricted by the codec. In V4 buffering the entire clip is definitely better. But at the cost of memory.

Thank you.
I use SSD to play the movie and now it works well.
But do you meet the problem when open the performance statistics? It is so strange, I tested 4 computer and 2 of them have the problem.
In the scene, it just an axis and a cube. Before I open the statistics it is OK

No. I never had that behavior before. Looks like the performance statistics is also applied as an alpha mask to the cube and the statistic bars. Very strange indeed.
What graphics card(s) are you using in your systems? Are they the same on all four machines?

No, all the four are difficult. I use HD7870 myself, another test machine is W9000, the other 2 I don't know what they are. But all the four graphics card are ATI's.
Firstly I think it is the problem with layout. But I tried Ventuz4.02, it was OK.
So strange problem, maybe re-install the system is the only way.

Could help but first you should try deleting all layouts, render setups, etc in the Machine Configuration. And then create a completely new project with a regular format of 1920x1080 for example.

This is pretty strange! It looks like the Render-States stack is corrupted and the Font Texture for the statistics rendering is applied to the cube.
Never seen this before.
Could you check your message log for any warnings or errors, please.

Hi,
It's really really a strange problem. I found that if I use a USB Independent sound card, I will have that problem. But once I use the motherboard sound card it's no problem.

I use sony pha-1 usb sound card. I don't know why the sound card will influence the Render. Unbelievable.
