Render To Disk Never Worked for me in V4 and V5

Hi, I'm really frustrated, and don't know why this is happening only with me,because never found a topic like mine.

I am trying to Render to Disk even the simplest scene: a cube rotating, nothing else !!!! When I start render to disk, as soon as it starts it hangs. I tried BMP,PNG, Qt ..... even at very low resolutions .. nothing works

I did it on my Toshiba Qosmio x70 and x75 computers, it doesn't render.
I tried on desktop computer with Quadro Graphics card on a computer which is $5500 .... and again nothing works.

Why I'm not able to record anything ?!?!?!? Is there any configuration in the card that I shall disable or anable?!??!

please, please help....

I can't make any type of demonstration. I am using Ventuz 4 and V5 designer.
I am using SSD drives.

regards.

hi serourian,

can't see any problem here. take a look to the video... but remove the .zip at the end of the filename.

greets

christian

I've had that issue too. Never tried solving it because I always use a video capture software. Usually the render to disk can't do what I need anyway ;)

On my 299€ laptop RTD is working like a charme...
brand new not even updated lappy...

on all my machines here at work the RTD works...

i remember we had a small issue, when the HDD is full, it still renders to disk, but the whole sequence is lost. that should be fixed.

anyway:
Scene->New...->SIMPLE SCENE (the one with the rotating V box)
DONT CHANGE ANYTHING, NOR LAYER FX NOR ANYTHING! :)

click render to disk
set TIME BASED
capture duration 1 (30-60frames depends on config)
output: BMP
fps... 60
alpha: NO ALPHA

check path and basefilename...
back to control and hit render to disk..

anything?

please send over your config and one of the caputured screens...

No Dennis, it doesn't work for me. I used to use Frapps, Camtasia . .. they all capture screen, but here in Ventuz,no chance at all. Last time to output the render, I used Texture saver, which is not very good, because it drops frames. I need to render as any other package renders, like premiere , Avid . . . or at least like Blufftitler.
I got really exhausted trying all types of file types, sizes and methods.

Sou,

in your video i see some things i would like to avoid:

please really..

use NO configuration at all... means:
use for all V5 configurations "None"

start a new project full HD
create a new "simple scene" with the rotating cube

render to disk, time based, NO CODEC choose BMP, NO ALPHA
render to a standard path (like your d:\test)

if it stalls again, ok we have to generate a dump which i will explain later on.
(would be great if you could help us there to solve that issue!)

No, I can render at any resolution. It was just because I was putting settings for the video . . . .
When I put all none it really worked.
