shaped surface in VENTUZ4

Post by svensura » 15 Dec 2013, 15:45

Hi, I am new in VENTUZ4 and was glad, that I could open all my former VENTUZ3-projects even with now "deprecated" nodes.
But I was not able to control the shaped surfaces node with the old shape editor, which seems to be replaced at all
by the new cluster-output-control. This new tool this is certainly a big advance for adjusting softedgges and geometries on
dedicated outputs. But a big advantage of VENTUZ3 was to be able to arrange warpings and blendings on different
screens independent from projectors (i.e. a foreground object hit by two projectors and a background softedge hit
by the same projectors). And it was a great help make fine corrections for projector-mapping-projects, when
I projected a 3D-mesh on a corresponding object using a deviation over a renderoutput linked to a warpable shaped surface.
Do I get anything wrong and everything is still possible ? If not please integrate the shaped surface back into the toolbox
and reinstall a remoting-connection to it from the old (but useful) shape-editor.
p.s.: the new user interface is quite chic, but especially people who use a retina macbook with full resolution to
program in VENTUZ will suffer under reduced contrast using darkgrey letters on lightgrey background. the simpler
the better, may you can add a really clean interface to your design-options.
thanks, regards
sven

hi sven

projector independent should work. but afaik you are right: you can not put 2 different warpings on the same physical output. what you could do: warp the old shape in v3 and import it into v4. not very comfortable but a workaround!
