Sending hex on serial port (news)

Hi all,
Sorry to reopen this topic.
We perform tests to control Sony cameras (BRC-Z700) from Ventuz.
The idea is to receive and send HEX data on port Serial .

As mentioned on this topic, Sony is working with a "FF" at the end of the message and nothing else:

example message:
Tally on = 8x 01 7E 01 0A 00 02 FF
X = camera address (1)

Sending data with other software (like serial port monitor, or comm operator) works fine, but I'd be able to send and receive ventuz to better manage control

After a lot of reading and testing, I can not send this data to the serial port.

Information of the parameters given by Sony:
• Communication speed: 9600 bps bps/38400
• Data Bits: 8
• Start bit: 1
• Stop bit: 1
• Non-parity
Flow control using XON / XOFF and RTS / CTS, etc.., Is
not supported.



I'm a little stuck at this level, and if someone want to help around this is with great pleasure!

hi alex

what i do normaly: i use a show control software in between of ventuz and hardware and use it as an interface to convert everything to easy messages which ventuz can understand.
or you write a script whith all the features you need for the serial port.

there is many software out there which you could use...if you need a hint please send me a pm!
