Importing 3d Models

Post by jamsab » 28 Jan 2013, 12:51

Hi I am new to Ventuz so im trying to work a few things out so any help would be great...

My question is simply how does one import a 3d model into a scene eg something nice and simple,, a football ?

And what format can this be imported ?

Thanks
Jamie

Hi Alex thanks for the info, i have been trying to work a few things out since last time but i am struggling a bit.
I will be using solidworks as opposed to AutoCad software for 3D modeling, and finding a decent conversion tool is becoming a bit of a problem, i have tried a few but failed to import correctly (in OBJ it just comes up completely blank when imported as mesh node), is there anything or any process you recommend to do this, im guessing the OBJ and X File formats are the more realistic formats i should be thinking of converting to ?

I have pasted a link of a document of all the import and export formats of the solidworks version i will be using.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
