Generated geometries not clean?

Hi,

today I'm reporting a bug that I've encountered in V4 as well - several times. I'm not sure what the problem is. Here's what I believe.

See the attached screenshot. What I've built is fairly simple: a rounded rect. Well, two rounded rects. Exactly on top of each other. It shows artifacts. The first idea is always z-fighting. But it's not. It's actually anti-aliasing. So I think the geometry is not clean. Basically the (well, some of the) inner edges are anti-aliased - and they should not be. So they are not recognized as shared edges.

Building the same geometry with Softimage solves the problem but is not as flexible, obviously.

I've had this with the circle as well in V4. I always worked around it but thought I should bring it up. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong..

Thanks,
rou

Hey rou, could you please send over the Geometries ?
Tool used to create the Geos and OBJ exporter version...

or is it the "inbuild" rounded Rects? if so .. a scene would be handy :D

Thanks in advance

Dee

in case this wasn't clear: I'm talking about Ventuz' geometry nodes (Circle, rounded rect).

Thanks,
rou

Rou!

We need a scene!
Or the exact settings for tessellation, size, multisampling, layers, etc...
I cannot reproduce your issue on my machine!

Cheers
Karol

Sure. Here you go. This is out of the box Ventuz 5 stuff. Config is set to (None). See attached image for the effect.

Now this is AA as changing the settings will eliminate the effect. But again I'm a bit confused that AA would happen inside the geometry.

I did see this happen on V4 as well, some time ago.
