I am trying to use Uni code characters from a Xkey pannel for channel control. I can go in and program the buttons and see them added in the shortcut options but as soon as I hit ok it seem the mapping is gone. I reopen the shortcut window and it shows none of the mappings that i set.
Here are some characters i am trying to use:
¡¢£¤¥¦§¨©ª«¬®¯°±²³´µ·¸¹º»¼½¾¿
Can director not take the character above for input control? Or is this a bug in the shortcut mapping options? I see that they Ventuz can use them for a text input field for a template.
*edit* It also can't seem to hold normal keyboard input take just tried "shift+~" and it clears the custom shortcut when you click ok.

Re: Custom Shortcut keys
Yeah make sense that the Unicode Characters would not work now. Just wanted to try and use something that would be hard or impossible to hit on the keyboard.
Happy to hear that you will be looking in to adding Xkey for control and feedback! In this case I have a Xkey80. But also have quite a few other models.
But should I be having the issue of setting "Shift + ~" as the Channel 1 Take? It is clearing the set input command after I set it and close (press ok) on the settings window.

Re: Custom Shortcut keys
Just wondering if you have any up date on if you plan to add some XKeys functions to Director?
I seem to run out of keyboard buttons that i can use to control all my layers and still be able to use the keyborad to input data for scenes.
Would also love to be able to map Keyborad/Xkey buttons to Project data.

Re: Custom Shortcut keys
Would be nice to have more flexible shortcut control. For the XKeys I'd guess you could build a plugin that registered the XKey events and act with the correct Director command from code (not as flexible but a workaround).
