Re: Ventuz Crash caused by avcodec-53.DLL problem
Hey Steph
Does the Presenter crash on startup or during the show? What about the memory load of your project? Some people met some problems with ffmpeg when the memory load is very very high.
If you use big image sequences for example you should go for quicktime animation instead to lower the memory load.

Re: Ventuz Crash caused by avcodec-53.DLL problem
In my opinion you should avoid using the Quicktime node. I always had performance issues with it. And you are bound to 32bit. If you are facing issues with too many movies the best way is to convert all your image sequences into MP4 clips and use the Movie Frame node instead. And MOST IMPORTANT: Enable/Disable those clips when you do not use/see them. The Movie Frame node and the Movie Advanced Node have properties for that. You should do that with EVERY movie you have in your scene. This will greatly save performance and memory.

I don't mean the quicktime node I just meant if he uses image sequences he should replace them with quicktime animation codec and movie clip advanced or movie frame nodes.

Re: Ventuz Crash caused by avcodec-53.DLL problem
Very true. My bad.
Re: Ventuz Crash caused by avcodec-53.DLL problem
Thanks for the fast reply.
The installation runs 18 hours a day. The error is not at the startUp, it appears some hours after we started the system in the morning. We don't use big image sequences, only small video files because the resolution is very small.
We use the Advanced Movie Loader and play following video formats:
- mov
- mp4
- wmv
- mpg

Re: Ventuz Crash caused by avcodec-53.DLL problem
An additional information:
During running the show the average memory load was 500MB (system 4GB). During the crash we had the same memory load. I think it should not be the memory load.

Re: Ventuz Crash caused by avcodec-53.DLL problem
To figure out what the problem is, we stopped using wmv's. Until today we had no crashes anymore.
