I am looking for a solution to create an Off-Screen render pipe on a non-production machine (without video output board) and was considering getting a Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K as a cheap SDI output board. At $195 it seems too good to be true, just wanted to run this idea by you guys to see if this will work.
My main goal is to generate a Preview channel. I understand that I can create a second Cluster to render a scene off-screen and get a snapshot of that Cluster.
Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Hi Etienne,
what about using two NDI outputs?

Re: Cheapest setup for Off-Screen pipe testing
Hi Karol, thanks for the suggestion, I will give that a try.
Would the DeckLink approach work? I would still be interested in a setup where I can use an HDMI output and an off-screen pipe for testing.
Happy holidays,
Etienne
