Spotlight shadows intensity not affected by objects trasnperancy

Post by plamenmarinov » 19 Jul 2018, 17:11

Hi,
It seems objects that are completely transparent still cast shadows and shadow intensity is not modulated by the object opacity.
So if we fade objects we cant fade their shadows. Am i missing something in the settings of the light or in the object material?
Best regards

Hi Plamen,

what you need is not possible out-of-the-box.
I would fake this by linking the 'AlphaValue' of the material to the 'Amount' value of the shadow properties on the according Light node.

Best Regards

Hi Karol,
Thanks for the workaround. Seems It means if i have 2 objects with different opacity i cant have different intensity of their shadows.
