VMS in not connecting

Post by serourian » 22 Jun 2018, 09:15

I bought a new laptop, installed Windows 10 pro. The laptop is AUS G701VIK gaming laptop with NVIDIA 1080. When I first installed it all was working fine and I did change the configuration settings. Second day when I opened my laptop, I can no more see anything in the ventuz configuration, also the VMS is grey, there seems to be no connection. This is happenned both for V5 and V6. Same issue on both. I checked firewall, put antivirus off, tried lots of things, nothing worked. The only way it worked is by uninstalling all, erasing Ventuz user settings file from Appdata ....

I have another older laptop, and everything is working fine... what's wrong in here ? what shall I do....

regards.

Maybe running the license manager (again) might help?

Hi,
this is definitely not related to any license issues!
Please open 'Services' and check if Ventuz Machine Service 2.2 (Ventuz 5) and Ventuz Machine Service 2.6 (Ventuz 6) is running.
These services are needed by the Config Editor to read and write the config files.

Best Regards
Karol

Yes they are running. Even I restarted them... nothing works. Only when I connect it to the router, and it finds LAN it works. This is really odd

Do you mean that it's only working if this computer is connected to the LAN? If you unplug the cable and disable WLAN it's not working anymore?
Did you install all Win 10 updates?

Cheers
Karol

Yes. That's what happening. And it is because there is Ventuz on the other machine. The VMS is switching to it.

If I unplug and goes blank. When I plug, I see the settings back.

Latest Windows 10 pro is installed (previously it was windows home, and I thought it's because of that, so, I bought the pro edition). Downloaded at Microsoft 2 days ago, and installed it clean. Everything works fine, just can't change configuration settings... unless I plug into LAN or wireless network, I don't know if finding another Ventuz on the network is necessary or not...

No, its not. This looks to me like a bug. We will try to reproduce it here...

Any results yet? Is it a bug ? or it's a windowsupdate - ventuz issue ?
