Yes i did forget to add to the manual to have it at least with: FBX 7.3 (2013) exported...

This is also the version i am using to have a 100% working cross interexchange between all autodesk and other suites...

please try again with the named FBX version and you should be fine..
I tried importing the ball with the animation into C4D and re-exported it with 2013... everything was fine.

Thank you

FBX import does not work right. As Joshy said, only the camera and the light get imported.

Hello ..

again:

please make sure to use FBX 2013 (7.3) as export version... nothing else...
cinema4d_fbx.jpg
3dsmax_fbx.jpg
The issue is with Assimp and not Ventuz... the same goes for interexchange between autodesk software, the newer versions of FBX have big issues. If you try to use the newer FBX version between maya, max, modo and so on you will encounter issues as well.. except you use the 7.3. Sometimes there is an issue.. sometimes on another feature.. sometimes it works..
But where we (including me as 3DSMax Guru) can be sure is : with 2013 7.3 you got at least nearly no issues/problems ... ;)

Best regards
Dee

First of all, great that C4D Liove Link works pretty well,
But FBX import does not. At least not for me.
Even a simple cube with a green color as texture does not get imported. :(
Weird enough that FBX 7.3 is last recommended version. I don't know what is going on there with these "standards".

Hi again,
..Yes and no. I tried it again today. The green color does not come with it. Only when checking textures as well on export. So you could say it works.
But when I have a real texture applied in cinema or even a normal map etc, they dont get imported. I have to find and load them manually.
I get the message "geometry import error - unable to handle scheme of..."

The same file exported as a collada 1.5 (and 1.4) does get imported with the texture, but then again here the uv-mapping seems to get lost.
So I will stick to live-link for now.
cheers
