Cinema4D Live link

Post by joschy » 26 Feb 2018, 14:10

Hi,
I've tried the new live link, but it doesn't work for me.
First, I removed the old LiveLink Plugin from my cinema installation. Btw, I have Cinema 4D R17 with windows 10 running.
Than I installed the new LiveLink Plugin. A simple test scene with a null object where the Ventuz Setup Link Tag is set and a cube as child with the Ventuz Object Link Tag set.
When I then take the Geo Import Live node I can only see under the Live-Link option in the property menu: Cinema 4D
There is no object link where i can access the object. I've checked if my antivirus program is blocking anything, but there is nothing.
May be I miss something...

cheers

Hey,

please be so kind to check the Properties for Cinema4D -> Ventuz Live Link.. there is a serveradress.. either let it empty, or use localhost or 127.0.0.1

if you checked this and tried everything... please open the console by clicking : Script->Console

it should read in the first line about ventuz: Ventuz Plugin: GeometryServer active...
and 3 times loaded.... vtz object, setup and prefs plugin loaded....

If thats not working at all and the geometry server is still not active... we maybe have ONE "kb" fix from windows to deinstall... Which has accidentally installed in the last months and is preventing several plugins and tools to communicate properly.. as well the ventuz plugin is affected. -.-
This was just the case with my workstation and couldnt be replicated until now.

But hopefully we will find another solution.....

Thanks and regArts

Heyho,

please search for the following KB:
KB4023057

Uninstall and restart the machine, try again to reinstall the cinemaplugin from ventuz and it might work.

Would be really great if you could give it a go.

Thank you very much for testing this.
all the best

Dee

Damn,

that would have been too easy anyways ^^ ;)
i just could figure out when it did stop working for me .. and that was around the relasetime in between of january the 6th to february..
i just had a look what kind of KB was installed then (the only changes to my system in that time was the regular windows updates), so i deinstalled the KB which matched the timeframe, which was apparently only the one i named...

ok thanks for testing! i will give dev a hint to have a closer look at this.

thank you very much!
