3D Paths

Hi Ventuz Team,

First of all - amazing work with the new version. I only had a little time to test it out until now but already saw so many functions that we were looking for so long :)
Just looking at the integrated particle system - awesome!

I see that the documentation is still in progress, understandably. :D
Maybe I was looking in the wrong topics, but I didn't find much about the 3D Paths that can be used in the path nodes... How do I create .vpath files or how can I convert them from externally created files (FBX)?

Thanks and Bests, Flo

Hi Flo,

yes, the Documentation is definitely work in progress. We just delivered the current version so you got at least something.

Currently, a path can only be created with the Cinema Live Link or loaded from an SVG file.

Cheers,

Götz

Please keep in mind,

if you want to use the Cinema4D LiveLink with the latest Beta, you would need to reinstall the C4D Plugin.

Animations, Kameras, Lights can now be handled by the LiveLink!

Just to add one additional point of interest: the .vpath is a json file - we have not put the specification in yet, but if you save a project with a spline you get from a C4D scene, you will have an example you can look into. Once you have that, you are free to create your own splines based on that format. I don't have on here atm, will post an example here tomorrow.

For everyone who is interested, I uploaded some samples extracted from Cinema 4D
One is a Helix with 100 Points, the other one a simple arc.
Also added one manually modified example with only three points and no tangents

@Ventuz Team: Are there any plans to implement this as an interactive input for a path provider? Meaning I could create JSON files from a script and feed them into a path provider?
