How to connect C4D with ventuz5.

Post by suriyaK » 28 Sep 2016, 05:08

I watch this clip (ventuz and Cinema 4D Integration – Erik Beaumont (Ventuz))
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcKS-fXARog
But I couldn't find ventuzTag in C4D.
Do I need to install Plug-in?
Thank you.

Hey,

yes, you need to install a plug-in for Cinema4D. You can find a setup in the Installation Folder of Ventuz, it's called Cinema4dPluginInstaller.exe. After running that you can restart Cinema4D and you should be able to see the tags.

Best,
Stephen

After installing Cinema 4D R18 and the plugin, Ventuz doesn't recognize the Live-Link any more.
I tried V5.1.2.128 and V5.2.0.138
Are there any further steps necessary?

Thanks

I have Cinema R18.031 installed and the live-link is recognized - with both V5.1.2 and V5.2. (On Windows 7).
Two ideas:
- Before, you configured an IP address in Cinema that's lost with installing R18 (In Cinema Menu: Edit->Preferences->VentuzLiveLink)
- You have two Cinema Versions installed and the Plugin Installer installed the plugin automatically to the wrong folder.

Of course can be a Bug too. What Windows Version are you using? Cinema is the official release?

hi Götz,
I use Windows 10 Pro and the official C4D release.
I completely uninstalled the previous version and ensured that all plugin folders were removed.
I will try with another windows Version.

Hello everyone,
I'm having the same issue here, after updating my C4D to R18 I lost the live link connectivity. This was done on windows 10
Then I did the same update to R18 on another workstation that runs windows 7 professional and the live link works fine.
So i guess it's the windows version doing the issue.

Has anyone from Ventuz already tried Windows 10, C4D R18 and the Ventuz 5 Live Link?

I have the same problem!

Win10, Cinema 4D R18, the plugin inställs and the tags are there to add but in Ventuz the Connection cannot be made, all I see is this [see attached image] (even after hitting force refresh in the C4D Ventuz Setup Link)

Ventuz version is V5.2.1.182 R15672
C4D version is 18.028 Build RB177006

I've used the live-link succesfully with earlier versions of Ventuz and R16, even under Win10, so I guess it's not only a Win 7 / Win 10 problem here....

Best regards,

Sam

Hi everybody we finally can reproduce the behavior and are working on it.
It will be hopefully fixed within the next version.

Thanks
Daniel
