Bad Dvi signal rendering stall

Hi,
I had this problem several time with DVI inputs.
When I connect a DVI with a bad signal the rendering stall.
Btw it is very strange but connecting and getting input in Ventuz 4 is not as reliable as in Ventuz 3.
How to get live information about the current input signal and Deltacast genlock status?
What is the detailed purpose of the software watchdog for inputs?
