I try to build up a Ventuz Cluster with two PCs using Firepro V7900 and S400 Syncboard. With Ventuz 3 all works fine, but I don´t get it with Ventuz 4.

Setup:

• Windows 7 Professional 64bit
• Ventuzversion: 4.02.00.715
• 2 PCs with Firepro V7900 + S400 + Blackmagic Syncgenerator
• Each PC has 2 times 1920 x 1200 with 50Hz as Eyefinity Gruppe (2 x 3840x1200)
• Clusterclock + Swap Sync
• Housesync on PC 1
• PC 1: ID 1 Group 1
• PC 2: ID 2 Group 1

1st Testrun

• Catalyst Version 13.152
• Housesync tested with 576i50 / 1080i50 / 720p50
• Per RJ45 to PC 2
• Result: Renderer keeps black or bluescreen. Ventuz 3 works fine. Without swap sync Ventuz 4 works too, but of course with flickering cluster clock.

2nd Testrun

• Catalyst Version 13.152
• Instead of Housesync using output one on PC1 as timing server
• Per RJ45 to PC 2
• Result: Renderer keeps black or bluescreen. Ventuz 3 works fine. Without swap sync Ventuz 4 works too, but of course with flickering cluster clock.

3rd Testrun

• Catalyst Version 9.003.3
• Housesync tested with 576i50 / 1080i50 / 720p50
• Per RJ45 to PC 2
• Result: Renderer runs, but with heavy flickering cluster clock what means for me that the swap sync isn't running fine. Ventuz 3 shows a constant green cluster clock.

4th Testrun

• Catalyst Version 9.003.3
• Instead of Housesync using output one on PC1 as timing server
• Per RJ45 to PC 2
• Result: Renderer runs, but with heavy flickering cluster clock what means for me that the swap sync isn't running fine. Ventuz 3 shows a constant green cluster clock.

5th Testrun

• Catalyst Version 12.104.2
• Housesync tested with 576i50 / 1080i50 / 720p50
• Per RJ45 to PC 2
• Result: This Catalyst version don´t allows me to activate the house sync

6th Testrun

• Catalyst Version 12.104.2
• Instead of Housesync using output one on PC1 as timing server
• Per RJ45 to PC 2
• Result: Renderer runs with a constant green cluster clock, but only with 25fps. Ventuz 3 runs at 50 fps and a constant green cluster clock.

7th Testrun

• Catalyst Version 13.25.18.1 Beta
• Housesync tested with 576i50 / 1080i50 / 720p50
• Per RJ45 to PC 2
• Result: Graphic adapter crashs. PC needs a hard reset. Ventuz 3 works fine. Without swapsync Ventuz 4 works too, but of course with flickering cluster clock.

8th Testrun

• Catalyst Version13.25.18.1 Beta
• Instead of Housesync using output one on PC1 as timing server
• Per RJ45 to PC 2
• Result: Renderer runs with a constant green cluster clock, but only with 25fps. Ventuz 3 runs at 50 fps and a constant green cluster clock.

What are our experience with Ventuz 4,AMD and Swap Sync. There are anybody who got it work?
By the way I got the same results with other PCs (Windows 8, W7000) too.

Since 4.03 the problem is fixed. For AMD user I recommend to only use Genlock/Housesync without Swap Sync. Together with the Ventuz Cluster Clock it works absolutely perfect with a great performance. As housesync I use Trilevel 720p50 for 50Hz setups or 720p60 for 60Hz setups (The drop-frame don't make trouble). So I am working on getting my AMD systems all synced for a wall. I am running in the the issue that the Swap Sync doesn't work.

I can get the systems working well with house sync like you said above. But when I go to enable Swap Sync the scene starts to launch gets to the black full screen, but then hangs before you see the loading squares and eventually crashes. I then notice that in the FirePro Control center on both machines show red X's for the sync of each monitor.


If anyone has tips to what is the best way to have these systems sync I would love to hear your input.
