deltcast input turns white.

Post by davidkmiller » 12 Oct 2013, 02:39

sometimes when going from windowed to fullscreen or dragging from one monitor to the next one or more of the inputs on deltacast will just turn white and it becomes impossible to get a feed without a full system reboot. Any clues. tried reinstalling drivers....no luck...sometimes when i go full screen a feed that wasn't working will start working and a different feed will turn white..

The error message indicates that you are mixing video signals with 1000/1000 and 1000/1001 clocks, like 60 and 59.94 Hz. (or 50 and 59.94 Hz). Deltacast cards can't handle this situation. I assume you have two inputs that are set to autodetect. I would suggest you try set them manually to the expected video format as a quick fix.

What video formats are you trying to receive? I would like to reproduce the problem here and make Ventuz behave better. But there seems to be also a Deltacast driver problem. Restarting Ventuz should be enough to get things running, a reboot should not be required.

Thanks for the response! I think you are hot on the trail. I swapped cards to the Black magic decklink and immediately saw some refresh rate mismatch errors. I corrected on the Blackmagic and it has been working flawlessly. I am on show call the next week with the Blackmagic solution which will get through the week when i get back to the lab next week i will retest the deltacast with the suggested settings.

inputting 3 devices at 720p 59.94 and one at 720p 60. Was set to auto detect. With the blackmagic i manually entered all inputs.

was able to confirm that this was caused by attaching an output device that defaulted to 59.94hz while my input devices were all 60hz standardizing the refres hrates on input and output sides seemed to fix this issue
