vpr config with win7 64 bit german

Post by joschy » 21 Feb 2012, 14:31

Hello,
I have noticed that I can not configure a vpr file with a win7 64 bit german version. Is that known? With a 32 bit englisch windows version the config possibility is there with a right mouse click...

same problem here!

The workaround for the moment is to make a presenter shortcut with the -override command line option.

Hi, we cannot reproduce this here. (Win7x64 german)
Anybody else who has the same problem?

The registry entry responsible for the "Config" verb is

Code: Select all

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Ventuz.Presentation.3\Shell\Config
.
It should look like this:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Ventuz.Presentation.3\Shell\Config]
@="Configure"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Ventuz.Presentation.3\Shell\Config\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Ventuz Technology Group\\Ventuz 3 (x64)\\\\VentuzPresenter.exe\" \"%1\" -override"
Please check if these entries are existent and have the correct contents. If not, please let us know.

Tanks,

Ralf

hi,
i'm having the same problem.

The registry entries are matching the ones you posted here.

But the icon looks different on machines were 'configure' is working, on the 'broken' ones its showing the presenter icon inside a page icon.

How do i set up the workaround exactly? Simply adding -override to the shortcut path doesnt work for me.

greetings

-ovveride should work. Check if you added a blank after the quotation mark

Code: Select all

" -override

i had a blank after the filename in the 'target' path, but there were no quotation marks, when i added them before the path and before the -override, they got removed after pressing OK after i opened the dialogue again.

where would i find the configure option when the parameter is set correctly, in the context window of the shortcut?

i edited a shortcut to the vpr file, so thats why it had no effect.

i can only find the VentuzPresenter.exe in the ventuz installation folder, if i make a shortcut from this and add -override it stays there after saving.

do i need to edit the vpr properties to open with the new shortcut instead of the original presenter.exe?

we dont have any affected machine here at the moment, but i will try this when we get it back.
