3d Vision TV Play support

I know that Ventuz supports passively 3d Vision.
By the way his method (only in full screen mode) is supported by many directx softwares.

Unfortunately now is not possible to play 3d videos or photos (mpo, jps, etc.) with Ventuz using the HDMI output and a compatible 3d TV. (24Hz)
We have to use a span screen config to show a 3d side by side video or a 3d side by side photo. This config works only with 3d projectors because none 3d TV supports a dual input.

We could use a side by side output and choose in our 3d TV the side by side option. This means that we loose half horizontal resolution.

Everything you say is correct. But what is your feature request?

A client of mine wants to visualize stereoscopic photos on a 3d TV in full HD.

Now he uses Sony Playmemories with a PS3

Ah. I guess in theory it would be possible, but implementation would be a nightmare. (would need to build a camera head that switches between two cameras every frame and then synch it properly). There are hardware rigs that can convert from a dual stream to an alternating frame mode - but I have no personal experience with them.

Thank you.

do you think I need two dvi extenders

and one multiplexer?

Also using a Quadro board + the sdi out option could be a good solution?
In this case I don't need two converters.

Because the Nvidia sdi output supports two fill line, are they supported by Ventuz?

That seems very complicated... should be a possibility to do it without converting to SDI. Again, I have no experience with converting from dual channel to dualstream full resolution.

If you want to go the SDI path, then you can output to SDI from the Ventuz Broadcast version, there is a stereoscopic setting in it.

We did support Nvidia SDI out, but that has been discontinued by Nvidia and so our support for it also has.

You will be better off with a Blackmagic board or, at a higher price point, a Deltacast or DVS board.

you could try with hdmi 1.4. it supports side by side in full resolution! but i never test it with a pc ;)

I already play with games in stereoscopy connecting my Asus 3D laptop to my Samsung 3D TV. Nvidia 3d TV Play uses the frame sequential output at 24Hz.

In Ventuz, if you want to visualize a stereoscopic video or photo you need a dual output. No problem with 3d geometry because the 3D Vision driver transform the directx geometry.
Dual output means that I need to span a side by side video on two screens.
Video projectors can merge two dvi signals in one, this is not valid for 3d tvs (except for broadcast 3d monitors that accept dual sdi signals for $8,000.00)

Ventuz should handle internally 3d videos and photos if we want output them through a single cable using the ATI HD3D or Nvidia 3D Vision. A new node?

hi

this could be...never tried it...but in the hdmi 1.4 specs you can use side by side with full resolution (3840*1080). and if the edid is reporting that this resolution is available in your tv i dont see any reason why it shouldnt be possible in ventuz! i allready did side by side in full resolution with a digital projection projector in combination with shutter glasses! but this was done with a dual dvi output...but for ventuz this is the same because it is rendering in 3840*1080!

it's possible only with 4K TVs, they accept a side by side 3840x1080 signal through the hdmi plug. Then the signal has to be converted by the TV pressing a key on the remote.
This means that we have to wait for new 3D Vision drivers and 4K TVs for the mass.
I whatched the new 85" 4K 3D TV by LG...it's impressive...the 3D depth and clarity is a lot better than whatever cinema screen I've seen.
