control external hdmi switcher

The manual points out, that there is possible access to an external device (e.g. a video mixer) via the tcp client node. sadly i don't find any hint which video mixers are capable of receiving this message - any advice is welcommed!!

Lightware do have really nice products and most of them should be controlable by TCP/IP.
They do have some switcher that enable a HDCP compliant workflow.

In this case its just a matrix router, not seamless switching but products like this should be avaible in the market.

4 inputs will do. frame size should be 1080i and connection should be HDMI.

Hi Tobi,

the ligthware product seem to be a heavy piece of hardware - maybe it's to much for our solution - but if its controllable via the TCP clint out of ventuz it should be fine.

I also watched the kramer VS-41H (with genuine hdmi ports):
http://www.kramergermany.com/products/m ... =533&sf=37
But the Krame support told me, that it wont be possible to control it other than via there own software client.

Might be possible that the same applies to the lightware product?

Cheers, Daniel

Hi Daniel,
I don't know the Kramer product but I am pretty sure that lightware has a protocol to control their devices easily.
Its very common to control for example lightware crosspoints with large seamless switching devices like Barco Encore. I think there are also different protocols that lightware does offer.

Cheers,
Tobi

hi tobi

i allready talked to daniel....and i dont think a simple hdmi switcher is the right choice...he wants to swich the live input during "onAir" status. so he realy need a seamless switcher, to make shure that the vintuz live input has allways a stable input signal. otherwise i am shure, that he has some "glitches" during swiching!

Hi Tobi, Hi Christian,

we will test the Atem product line with two mixers TVS (camera switch) and 1 ME (final mix and keying) - since BMD is the only company with a broad SDK - it should be likely, that we can control it via the tcp-client. Nevertehless - it's an experiment. I'll let you know after my holiday if it succeded.
