Name An Object

Post by jgsing » 23 May 2012, 17:17

How do I name an object such as an axis?
In the tutorial video (04_Building_A_Scene.mov) the instructor says, "I'll name the first axis '1' '".
How is this done?

And to help me learn, where could I have found the answer to my question on my own?

Thanks in advance,
John

Hey,

for naming a node dubbleclick it and type in a name.
To find help select a node and press F1. Then you can choose between a help scene or the user manual entry.

Best regards,
Stefan

Thanks so much for responding.
Yes, that is great, I think I actually tried it, and I might not have noticed the text field that opens up.
I did check the references that you mentioned for help, and neither one mentioned the double clicking to name.
I did just notice that the standard Windows F2 also works to name or rename.
The "Example Scene" is really cool and something I did not know existed. I am hoping it will be helpful in the future.

I have a million questions, is this the best place to post them?

Finally, how do I search help? There is a binocular icon on the help page, but that is labeled "Show Search Results" and does nothing when I click on it.

Thanks,
John
