hey, what u CAN do - but wich is just another workaround - place a texturenode with a fitting gradient (set on clamp and pass thru) in front of the hierachy and shift it from one side to another. This will result in a swipe of the whole hierachy without render target. Of course the effect pretty muc...

which version are you on, cause if I do this on 3.061 I encounter no problem with it, maybe i got you wrong...
Im moving a whole family while everything inside is collapsed, when I expand - everything has the same position inside the family window as before the move.

well,
there is no implemented functionality for this.
But you should be able to save ur render view with the texture saver node and print the designated file with a script using .net (probably).
