Advanced Movie Clip node crashes Render to Disk

I have encountered problems with Render To Disk in both Interactive and time-based mode when using Advanced Movie Clip nodes in my scenes. More specifically, if the Enabled property of an advanced movie clip node is animated and if Async Loading is activated, the Render to Disk functionality always ...

Re: PNGs shown aliased when small-sized

Do you use the Advanced Image Loader to load the PNG image? Or the regular Image Loader? If you use an Advanced Image Loader, make sure the GenMipMaps property is On in the Adv Image Loader node. You could try adjusting the MipMap Level. I do that quite regularly. Go to the Texture node and under th...

Re: Sequence Render causing corrupt image files

I can confirm that problem. We are experiences file errors as well. It seems to work better with PNGs. Rendering TIFs definitely has the most file errors. Took us a while to figure out what was wrong. We only usually have the very last pixel line corrupt in one of those files.

Re: dnxhd alpha

Tsk tsk tsk. My bad. Sorry I just found an alpha node in my scene which made the whole thing work. I will get back to testing the codec setttings. Should have paid more attention.

Re: dnxhd alpha

OK, i got it. I have the dnxHD codec running under Windows 7 64bit with Ventuz 3.06 with Alpha. I downloaded the Avid codec pack v2.3.4 at http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=392959 I used After Effects to convert an image sequence to Quicktime with the Avid dnxHD codec. Her...

Re: dnxhd alpha

oh boy. that is an issue. I am just right now playing around with the avid codec and the first clip i rendered out from after effects with alpha (750 frames) was 2.5GB. :))))) The QT Animation was only 500MB. I definitely have to play around with the settings.

Re: dnxhd alpha

chriss, i meant to say that ffmpeg maybe does not support the alpha channel. it is a bit funny, weird and sad at the same time that your client does not want to use QT animation. sam, if you used the quicktime node before than it is a whole different story. don't count on the advanced movie node to ...

Re: dnxhd alpha

Which node are you using in Ventuz to play back the clip? The new Advanced Movie Node uses an implementation of ffmpeg to decode movies. Maybe ffmpeg does not support alpha channel of the dnxhd codec. Have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNxHD_codec Alternatively you can always use the Qui...
