Confirmed as a Bug. It is possible to output the complete ventuz environment and save it as a Cubemap HDR. the Trick will be to use the yourtexturename.HDR extension... as soon as you use the *.hdr extension to save a texture it will be written as 32bit HDR Cube. i think its just cropped... usally it would say "bad magic number" .. well at least for other software tools who fail to import meshes :)
