Spot Light Texture

Post by _aTom_ » 09 Nov 2016, 12:14

Hi again,

i have another little feature request for the spotlight and maybe also for the other lights (point & directonal) if its possible.
Can you please add a texture (movie also if its possible) to the spotlight to simulate a flashlight spot or a special fx like a beamer witch projects a movie onto a wall and so on?
I got some great ideas to use this and hope its not a big thing for the coders ;)

Possible features for the spotlight (optional point & directonal):
- Colored textur with UV´s
- Movie Node with UV´s would be awesome
- Shadows should work with that ;)

Thanks!

Creative regards,
Tom

+1 xD

Yes, this would be very handy since the math behind the "cones" is very complex to match a "textured cone" to the Spot-cones.

I will add this as a Feature Request, i guess many people would be happy to have such a feature :)

Next to:

- I think the cone should be "open" and not having a Top and Bottom?
- Top and Bottom should be scalable?
- ...
