Save data from scenes or keeping data when rebooting.

Post by shermanpat » 30 Dec 2013, 20:50

Looking for a way to open and scene set some case switches, names and such and have that data be saved in the presentation file. So that when we have to reboot the machine or reopen a presentation it will still hold the data.

What types of variables/nodes can be set while running a presentation and hold that new value for next time the presentation is opened? Not being set back to the original value when the presentation was exported.

Thanks for the info, that looks very helpful!

Is that a single use instance or multiple machines?

So should I also get from that answer that most if not all data in a VPR is set when exporting and will always start up the way it was set at that time? If not could someone mention a few nodes that can hold data when closing and reopening a VPR.

Hi,
I am the creator of this small Xml-Load/Save tool. It is allowing you to easily save 10 strings of information to a file and provide it to your scene again after firing an event (like scene loaded).
It just has to get purchased once, you can use it for all your projects but please be fair and do not distribute it widely ;)
If you need more functionality in the node, please just drop me a line.

Well I am interested in this but haven't got the demo to save/load the file. It work with the pass through on.
I have confirmed the file location, and tried a 2nd location. Never seen it create the XMl file, nor will it create the file when i click save.

what might I be doing wrong?

Ok so almost gave up on the demo scene, then thought lets try V3. It saved the file no problem and worked right away. I swapped back over to the V4 scene and it also was able to save and load after v3 saved the file.

Might you know what the issue would have been?

Yes, the tool did not create the XML-file in V.4. The new version is now fixing this problem.
