VR HTC Vive

Post by Naggar » 08 Jan 2017, 17:10

Hi,
I have an issue with HTC vive controller..
The "infinite Ray" can only touch a mesh with 3d touch node if it is pointing straight upwards from the controller.
In my scene I have a gun Which is my Vive controller, and I rotated the gun -52 degrees on X axis so that it is comfortable to hold and see with the HMD.
I also managed to change the ray with the draw touch ray, but it only changes the mesh of the ray itself. The mesh with the touch transformation 3D node still only responds when it is aimed at from the original vive controller orientation (screen shot: functional but uncomfortable grip) .
So is there a way to change the orientation of the ray so that the Ray can be fired at a different direction (screenshot:correct orientation)?

Thank you

Hi Naggar!

The transformation of the ray will be a feature of Ventuz 5.3 (scheduled for end of February).
Right now there is now workaround to achieve this.

Best Regards
Karol

Hi Again,

I guess its safe to say V 5.3 is behind schedule. Im wondering if this issue can be fixed with the next update whether it is 5.3 or not? it is quite urgent.
thank you
