RenderCubemap Node

Post by _aTom_ » 22 Aug 2016, 10:06

Hi,

is it possible to store (save as file) the rendered texture from the RenderCubemap node somehow?
I tried to add a TextureSaver node on it, but the result is just a black image.

Maybe you can upload a simple example, cause in the documentation i can´t find something for it.

Thanks!

Creative regards,
Tom

ah i saw you wrote already it´s not possible in christians post below ;)
But please add this as a feature request - i will need this many times to precalculate my enviroment as a texture to lighten my scenes later and as reflection map. Currently i need this feature in 2 different projects.
The solution to put this rendered map into another channel of a texture is not possible in the most cases.

Confirmed as a Bug.

It is possible to output the complete ventuz environment and save it as a Cubemap HDR.

the Trick will be to use the yourtexturename.HDR extension... as soon as you use the *.hdr extension to save a texture it will be written as 32bit HDR Cube.
This is broken right now and will be fixed asap.
