Energy flow on line? Any suggestions?

Post by kberraho » 25 May 2016, 13:42

I am trying to find a way to create the effect of energy flow on a line, I am not sure but can it be done with a rectangular scaled to resemble a line then apply a custom gradient using the masking in ventuz, and try to animate the gradient over time? is there ab better way of doing this, Thanks much

Create a ribbon geometry in a 3D software. Then simply animate the position of a texture on it in the appropriate UV axis. (so move the texture on the geometry) The texture can be a blob or a gradient, whatever suits best.

Thanks Eric,
How would you animate the position of a texture, doesn't that animate the movement of that Axis node and all its children? Thanks
