Hi christian,
Can you describe what you want to achieve?
Why does the Color Node have to be outside the Content Container and why does the Animation Node need to be inside?
You can still trigger the Animation by exposing the Events inside the Content Container and bind them to the Animation Node's Methods that you can then place on the same Level as the Color Node.
Is this not an option?

hi stephen,
no, its not an option
it would just help to build cleaner projects.

Re: Connect control of keyframe animation
Almost thought so.
What about the other way around? Placing another Color Value inside your Content Container, binding its value to the Animation and exposing it (thus making it an output) and then binding the Color-Input of your Scene Port to the exposed value? Still an extra Node, but the Animation is inside your Container.
Currently it is not possible to bind Animation Controls downwards because its bound to Animation Channels directly that cannot be exposed (like Node Properties as in the example above). So its purely technical so far - once everyone is back from NAB I will have talk about that to see if its a conceptual problem as well.
