RGBA to Color node alpha value not used in color object

Hi,
Just noticed that the Alpha value inside the Color object is not used when I use an RGBA to Color node.
I can change the alpha input what I want but I only see the separate alpha output change, not the A value inside the color object that it returns. Is that a bug or not supposed to work this way?
