Content merging makes some connections invisible

Post by schub » 27 Nov 2014, 09:54

Hey,
I just found a way to reproduce a bug that we sometimes observed.

How To:
  • Create a content container with a variable in it
  • expose the variable input and connect it to something outside the container
  • back inside the container, create a node (e.g. expression) and link its input to the variables input (so that the input is used like an output)
  • merge the last created node with Ctrl+M
  • Result: the connection to the variable becomes invisible, both nodes act as if they're still connected
Please see attached scene to try it yourself.

I believe the merge functions somehow skips the variable and connects right to the source, but since the source is outside the container the connection cant be displayed.
