Version 4 New Product Names

Post by ErikB » 29 Apr 2013, 13:18

Hi all,

so many of you will have noticed the changes we are making to the website in preparation for the launch of v4.

One of them is the simplification of our product lineup. You will notice first of all, there are no longer professional or broadcast editions. This was a distinction that fit well in the past, but with some architectural changes in v4 it makes less sense. Instead you just buy Ventuz and if you need it can buy, as an option, the ability to output over SDI with key and fill. So where we used to have a Broadcast Runtime, now we just have the runtime, and you buy an SDI output option.

This makes our product lineup very simple:

Designer
Director
Runtime

- and then you can buy SDI outputs as needed. The end price points remain the same (so a runtime+SDI will be the same price as a v3 BC runtime) it just is somewhat simpler. Projects built without SDI option can of course be opened in Ventuz with the option and vice-versa.

We also have removed the Express and Touch editions in v4. Instead Ventuz will default to PLE when launched without a dongle.

We will update here as we release more information. Feel free to post questions and we will answer - or send us a mail if you prefer.
