Pixel shaders
Hi

Is it possible to write our own pixel shaders in the latest version?

Regards

Re: Pixel shaders
Hi Ian,

good to hear from you again!

No, Ventuz 2008 does not support custom shaders.
We'll release the official Roadmap for the 2008 version soon. Let's hope that this finds a position there...

Re: Pixel shaders
I think that these might be used to solve problems in a number of areas. They could be used to improve render quality, but also for other less obvious purposes such as filters, colour limiting for TV, flag animations, ripples; even for particle effects, water, fire and glows. There are many examples of shaders that people could use, so it is only the interface that is required. Even Microsoft Movie Maker has it in nowadays. I think it would be a big advantage.

Re: Pixel shaders
@IanM: 100% agree.
As far as I know a roadmap for the development of the 2008 version will be published soon. I strongly hope that programmable shaders will be part of it.
