I was testing ventuz 2008 beta (last one) and I opened ventuz 2006 project in 2008 version (I made copy of prj file before) I was working on it in 2008 and when I tried to come back to 2006 I cant open that project (his copy too) and I've got "ProfileEdit: unexpected error. The type initializer for "Ventuz.Profile.VProfile" threw en exception" ... ok, I've tried to make new project, but with same result. It seems that it have something to do with hardware profiles, so I tried to open VentuzProfiles.exe -edit and it make same error. I uninstalled everything (both 2006 and 2008) and install 2006 only and its still same... please help somehow.

Hi clad,
this problem usally only appears if you have invalid video or audio devices registered to the windows system. If Windows doesn't not provide the so called "Friendly Name" for a device, Ventuz crashes with that error. Please check you driver settings for audio and video cards. I had this problem last time with uninstalling the lastest AJA video card drivers and with Decklink drivers.
The problem is handled in 2008 release properly but for some reason it seems that it injured you previous profile settings.
To solve that, please navigate to the installation folder of Ventuz 2006 and delete the "profiles.bin" file (all your manually created hardware profiles will be lost!)
Anyway, please check your driver setting or roll-back the system to a working point in the past.

I didnt change anything in hardware and drivers configuration for more than two months...
your solution with deleting profiles.bin was working well for the first time only... it was happiest moment today :) but, when I started ventuz second time I see same error and profiles.bin isn't in ventuz directory. what can I do now... I uninstall ventuz, deleted all the files in ventuz directory, install it again and its still same. nothing helped...
Its very confusing, I have to work on some project until friday and I spend two days with this error.
