You can control video playback by animating the movie clip control methods. Simply drag&drop the method names (such as Play, Stop, Pause) onto the Animation Editor to create a channel for each method. A keyframe then behaves the same way in the Animation as if you triggered the method manually at that time.
If you want to pause video playback you have to use the Pause and Continue methods. Stop will effectively stop the video stream completely.

Thanks for the reply krix, what im trying to achieve is control the video in the timeline, like if you were to keyframe an image sequence so if i wanted it the video to start from e.g 0 seconds then stop at 28 seconds is there a way around this?
kind regards

Videos are treated as streams in Ventuz, like tuning into a TV show. You would not know about stop/start frames in a stream, you'd just tune in and watch.
Another reason is that Ventuz is not a frame-based system, while most video files are tied to a specific frame rate. That is a reason why Ventuz doesn't control video by frames.
The best alternative is to use an image sequence, but it's not ideal when you have a large video file. If your video isn't too big (less than a minute perhaps), consider converting it into a sequence of images (PNG or Targa for example) using Adobe After Effects.
Good luck!
