his reply 'not in ventuz 2006' is not so acceptable to 'upcoming' feature ...

Re: MTC and LTC timecode
hi clad,

the simple control node has a 0-100% output. wouldnt it be better that the keyframe animation gets a timecode input and a TC offset??

Re: MTC and LTC timecode
after looooong work on one project when I was synchronising ventuz elements to one 7 minutes video track i vote again for Midi TimeCode output ...

for lots of reasons, but this one is quite interesting :::
it could be possible to seek in video. (thrue Vegas or Bonsai HDD players and Live Video node)... i  know, its little bit complicated, but i think its easier to implement this, then seeking in video in Ventuz. Can you imagine how many times I have to see begining of that video, when i was synchronizing something in last minute.

i thought, it could be simple... i wrote times from Vegas timeline, but i found, that it didnt fits to timeline in Ventuz... Ventuz needs about 30 seconds more at the end of 7 minutes movie. :-( if i didnt miss something i think its some bug.
then i tried synchronizing thru audio track, but it didnt fits too...

another think is, that in ventuz is impossible to see exact position in timeline, when animation is playing (2 state animation, begin state to end state) . its quite strange that we cannot see position line and time in UI. all of this behaiviour made quite simple task very very hard. (... and director of show started to hate Ventuz)

bye clad

Re: MTC and LTC timecode
Hi clad

If you want to synchronize an external unit (hdd player, etc) to Ventuz, it's easy if the unit can be slave-sync'ed to LTC. Simply use an audio track with the desired LTC timecode and control it from a keyframe animation node. If you need MTC (midi timecode), you can use a standard midi interface which provides an LTC input.

You say you already tried to synchronize via audio track. Did you use LTC? If yes and you couldn't establish a proper sync, did you check the framerates and LTC levels?

Regards,
Ralph

hi clad

what ralph say is correct, it should work without problems but when you record your ltc take care to use a .wav format and check the volume output of yur soundcard!!

Re: MTC and LTC timecode
now we are using LTC timecode to control Bonsai Drives and some Akai tools.

But I need some help, I cant find software tool to generate right WAV files with LTC timecode. I'm still recording that from hardware tools thrue audio inputs, and its not so comfortable. Do you know some tool to generate audio files with that timecode?
