Hi chriss,
are there any unavailable network mappings on your laptop? The file open dialog may hang if the windows explorer has problems to browse the content of a folder.
Do you have any explorer extensions installed? like ACDSee ?
Please give us more details about that issue.
Thanks and stay tuned,
Ralf

hi ralf,
i have no mapping to a network folder and no explorer extension. what i don't understand is that if i start ventuz i can open this dialog once, if i try that a second time ventuz hangs.
ahh and dont't spend so many time in that problem: i hope i will get a new laptop soon :-) and i have a workaround: i bind the output of a movie file loader to the file input of the image loader and it works :-). so i have no preview of the image and no crash!!

Hi all! Does this happen with any image formats or only with certain formats? Is there any error message? Please take a look in the designer.log file in the Ventuz installation folder.

Hi Karol sorry for my bad english, I try to use up the solution.
I Rclick on desktop for desktop properties. Click on settings tab and click on display properties button. New window of graphic card settings pop up. And here we see , in main tab, settings of dpi. It is it! Yesterday I was these settings on 120dpi and image loader crashes, always second time I try to open picture browser. Today I have these settings on 96dpi and image loader working fine. :)
